Salary Range: $186,005 – $218,900 USD

About the Role

Coinbase is seeking a senior backend engineer to join the Coinbase Card team, which is focused on creating a world-class crypto payments experience. In this role, you will build and scale backend services for a secure, globally available debit card product that allows users to spend crypto effortlessly. You’ll work with technologies such as Golang, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB to create high-performance systems that emphasize reliability, safety, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems in Golang supporting Coinbase Card features
• Build reliable, scalable APIs and services with modern cloud technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and roadmap execution
• Ensure system security, performance, and observability in a highly regulated space
• Write well-tested, high-quality code and lead system design discussions

What Coinbase Looks For

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Prior experience working on card products or financial services at scale
• Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with Golang, databases, and building secure financial systems
