Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - New Product Vertical) – Coinbase (Remote, U.S.)

Salary Range: $186,005 - $218,900 USD + bonus + equity + benefits

Role Overview:

Be a founding engineer on a new Coinbase team building the Coinbase for Business product. You'll own backend architecture and engineering for new product features including international payments, payroll, invoicing, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end ownership of backend engineering for Coinbase for Business.
• Design and build backend systems and prototypes for MVP and future features.
• Collaborate across teams on onboarding, multi-user functionality, payment rails, tax, commerce integrations, etc.
• Write high-quality, well-tested production code.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in fintech, especially building financial and payments systems.
• Skilled in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining service-oriented backend architectures.
• Passion for open financial systems and blockchain innovation.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working at rapidly growing companies (startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Sinatra, Postgres, MongoDB, or Redshift.
• Crypto-forward experience, such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain services.
