Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Developer - Onramp)

Role Overview:

Join Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) to build API/SDK tools for the onchain economy. As a backend engineer on the Onramp team, you’ll help create seamless fiat-to-crypto rails for billions of dollars in transactions. Work closely with major crypto apps like Coinbase Wallet, Metamask, and Ledger.

Responsibilities:

• Build Developer Tools: Design APIs/SDKs for seamless fiat-to-crypto transitions.
• Work Across Tech Stack: Full-stack development (Web, Mobile, Backend).
• Focus on Scalability: Design distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Improve UX: Collaborate with product and design teams to enhance developer tooling.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in software engineering
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Strong coding skills in full-stack development
• Passion for Web3/Onchain technologies (Ethereum, EVM chains)

Nice to Haves:

• Experience scaling a startup to mid-size
• Knowledge of blockchain technologies (Bitcoin, Ethereum)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and high-reliability systems
