Role Summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Institutional Trading Derivatives team. You will design and build new products and services supporting derivatives trading, collaborate across teams, and contribute to the development of scalable and reliable trading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems for new institutional trading products
• Build services, APIs, monitoring tools, and frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver key product features
• Mentor team members and support skill development

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering
• Strong experience building and maintaining production systems
• Proficiency in service-oriented architecture
• Passion for crypto and building an open financial system

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-performance, low-latency systems
• Background in trading systems or financial platforms
