About the Job

Join Coinbase’s Platform Product Group as a Senior Backend Software Engineer in the Consumer Engineering Test Infrastructure (CETI) team. Help build robust, scalable testing infrastructure to validate product behaviors at scale through automated testing frameworks. This role directly impacts product quality by enabling the early detection of bugs, streamlining test automation, and fostering proactive testing culture across the company.

Responsibilities

• Build & Scale Testing Infrastructure – Architect automated testing frameworks from the ground up to enable faster and more reliable product validation.
• Enable Smart Automation – Develop strategies for automating testing at various levels (unit, integration, end-to-end) and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage AI/ML for Smarter Testing – Apply AI/ML techniques to optimize test execution, detect flaky tests, and enable self-healing automation.
• Enhance Developer Productivity – Identify testing workflow bottlenecks, introduce new tools, and streamline processes to empower engineers.
• Define and Drive Quality Metrics – Establish metrics to track test effectiveness, release stability, and developer efficiency.
• Drive Best Practices – Collaborate with teams across the stack to define scalable testing strategies and improve overall product quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining production services and service-oriented architecture.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code.
• Passionate about building an open financial system.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with rapid company growth.
• Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks or growth experiments.
• Experience with microservices, Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Background in building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
• Experience with Blockchain technology, including familiarity with Ethereum, Bitcoin, and dApps.

Salary & Benefits

Pay Range: $186,005 USD - $218,900 USD
