💸 Compensation

• Base Salary: $196,000 – $220,500 USD
• Additional Compensation:
• Equity (stock options)

🧭 Team Mission & Scope

You’ll join the Growth team, a group focused on:

• Driving user acquisition, activation, and retention
• Building features that expand Discord’s community
• Running data-informed experiments to improve user flows and engagement

This team works across platforms (Web, Android, iOS) and contributes directly to Discord’s growth as a product and brand.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own projects end-to-end: gather requirements, write technical specs, build and launch
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to craft and refine experiments
• Build across full-stack platforms (Web, iOS, Android, Backend)
• Use rapid prototyping and experimentation to validate hypotheses
• Develop user empathy and translate insights into impactful product features
• Collaborate with other senior engineers to drive team execution and mentorship

✅ Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with:
• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Mobile: React Native, Kotlin (Android), Swift/Obj-C (iOS)
• Backend: Python, Elixir (a plus)
• Strong product intuition and a user-focused mindset
• History of shipping growth or engagement-related features
• Analytical and experimentation-driven thinking (e.g., A/B testing)
• Strong ownership and ability to operate independently
