About the Role:

The Senior Software Engineer, Partner Engineering role at Discord focuses on building tools for game developers to integrate Discord into their games, enhancing social gaming experiences. This role involves SDK and API development, working closely with external game developer partners, and contributing to a high-quality developer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with game developer partners, providing technical guidance and support.
• Develop and improve Discord SDKs, APIs, and backend systems.
• Ensure a high-quality developer experience, refining tools and documentation.
• Write, review, and ship scalable and efficient C++ code.
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and partner managers to navigate ambiguity and drive innovation.

Requirements:

• Native-level proficiency in Mandarin (to support international partners).
• 2+ years of C++ experience and 4-5 years as a software engineer.
• Prior experience collaborating with external partners as a technical expert.
• Strong product and design thinking when developing SDKs.
• A problem-solving mindset, capable of working from first principles rather than just implementing quick fixes.
