The Role

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in helping enterprise customers—especially in regulated industries like manufacturing and the public sector—succeed with GitHub. You'll be the technical face of GitHub during pre-sales, providing expert guidance and designing tailored solutions to meet customer needs across their software development lifecycle (SDLC).

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role ideal for a technical consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams to drive technical wins through discovery, product demos, proof-of-concepts, and solution design.
• Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders and executives within customer organizations.
• Identify technical pain points and creatively present GitHub solutions that drive business value.
• Support strategic account planning, contributing to long-term success and growth.
• Deliver content for webinars, conferences, and marketing events.
• Provide thought leadership on DevSecOps, security practices, and modern software delivery.
• Stay ahead of trends in AI, security, CI/CD, and developer tooling.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical consulting, pre-sales, or solution engineering
• OR
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering + 6 years experience
• OR
• Master’s degree + 4 years experience
• OR
• PhD + 2 years experience
• OR
• Equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proven ability to lead technical conversations from discovery to deployment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (when needed).

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years working on digital transformation or software modernization.
• Strong understanding of enterprise SDLC and software delivery challenges.
• Expertise in one or more of the following:
• Git & GitHub workflows, DevOps/DevSecOps
• CI/CD pipelines and tooling
• App security (SAST/DAST, software composition analysis)
• AI's role in developer tools
• Experience with public sector or manufacturing clients.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $88,900 – $235,900 USD/year
• Sales Incentive: 30% of total On-Target Earnings (OTE)
