💼 What You’ll Own

This is Discord’s most senior IC role in the Consumer Revenue org, driving the technical strategy behind:

• Nitro subscriptions
• Shop products
• Server monetization (e.g., Server Subscriptions)

You'll Be:

• Shaping the roadmap for revenue-generating features and infrastructure.
• Driving cross-functional projects with Product, Design, Data, Marketing, and Partnerships.
• Leading large-scale initiatives from concept to production.
• Mentoring senior and junior engineers, instilling engineering excellence and high-quality standards.
• Collaborating with staff engineers across teams to align architectural decisions across Discord’s ecosystem.

📦 Tech Stack You’ll Touch

• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Mobile: React Native, Kotlin (Android), Objective-C / Swift (iOS)
• Backend: Python, Elixir
• Real-time systems experience is a plus.

• 8+ years in software engineering (with staff or senior staff level leadership).
• Experience in building high-scale, user-facing features and launching them in a fast-paced environment.
• A proven record of technical leadership—especially across product/platform initiatives.
• Experience shipping consumer monetization or subscription-based systems is a big plus.
• Strong product intuition: You’re someone who gets users and thinks about the "why" before the "how."
• You care about performance, reliability, and systems thinking across large codebases.
