🧭 About the Role

You will be the lead UX researcher embedded in the Retail Onchain team, responsible for helping users discover and interact with onchain products like staking and DeFi Borrow within the Coinbase app. This role is both strategic and hands-on, driving insights that directly shape product design, experiments, and engagement efforts.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Own the UX research strategy for Retail Onchain, from foundational to tactical studies.
• Design and execute mixed-method research:
• Interviews
• Surveys
• Usability & concept testing
• Investigative quick wins
• Craft clear, concise reports that drive design and product decisions.
• Translate research into A/B tests, feature campaigns, and UX optimizations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product, and Data teams.
• Synthesize qualitative research with behavioral analytics for stronger insights.

🧠 Core Experience

• 5+ years of user research experience (preferably some in a lead role).
• Expertise in mobile product user engagement and growth.
• Proven ability to drive metrics-informed design decisions.
• Skilled at coaching PMs and designers through conducting their own lightweight research.
• Strong communicator who can influence product strategy through storytelling.
• Self-sufficient in prioritizing projects and managing multiple stakeholders.

🧪 Technical & Research Skills

• Experienced in both moderated and unmoderated testing.
• Comfortable with quantitative data and experimentation frameworks.
• Ability to bridge research insights with analytics to deliver measurable impact.

🌍 Web3/Onchain Experience

• Familiarity with:
• Self-custody wallets (e.g., MPC, Smart Contract Wallets)
• Onchain product mechanics and workflows
• Educating “crypto newbies” about complex concepts

• Base Salary: $167.3K – $196.8K
