As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll help ensure the uptime, reliability, and performance of IBM’s critical systems, while blending software engineering and operations for maximum efficiency and innovation.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
As an SRE, your job is to maintain production excellence by proactively managing infrastructure, resolving issues, and automating repetitive tasks. You'll work closely with development teams, support teams, and cloud environments to uphold system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support mission-critical production systems.
- Investigate and resolve incidents through root cause analysis to reduce recurrence.
- Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure — especially on IBM Cloud.
- Take ownership of Salesforce-related cases, ensuring SLAs are consistently met.
- Participate in on-call rotations, working globally to minimize MTTR.
- Automate operations with platforms like AWX and custom Python scripts.
- Track system performance using monitoring and incident management tools.
- Maintain strong collaboration with global teams to balance workload and priorities.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- 1–3 years experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructures (IBM Cloud preferred).
- Expertise in MS SQL Server 2022 administration and management.
- Familiarity with AWX or similar automation/orchestration tools.
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting.
- Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
- Prior experience in on-call support for critical systems with strong RCA documentation.
- Familiarity with Salesforce infrastructure and case management.
- Knowledge of incident response processes, monitoring platforms, and SLAs.
- Comfortable working in a distributed, cross-functional global team.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, IT, or related field)
