Salary: $186,065 – $218,900 USD + bonus + benefits

About the Role:

Join the Base team to help scale Coinbase’s onchain platform built on Optimism’s OP Stack. You will design, build, and maintain secure smart contract protocols and backend services to connect users with the crypto ecosystem while contributing to an open, decentralized financial future.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop secure smart contract protocols and backend services
• Drive standardization by designing and defining crypto protocol interfaces
• Collaborate with leadership and product teams to define onchain strategy and roadmap
• Mentor and guide team members on smart contract engineering best practices

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in Solidity and smart contract development
• 3+ years experience in backend or client-side development
• Deep knowledge of smart contract best practices and current industry patterns
• Extensive experience with crypto ecosystems like Ethereum and DeFi
• Passion for building secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Go programming language
• Familiarity with zero-knowledge technologies
• Contributions to open source crypto projects
• Hands-on experience with onchain activities (Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps)
