About the Role

Coinbase is hiring experienced backend engineers for its Trading Team to build and scale the core systems that power crypto trading. Whether it’s Simple Trade for everyday users, Advanced Trade for professionals, Derivatives, or Decentralized (DEX) trading, this is a rare opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of crypto, trading infrastructure, and consumer products.

Key Responsibilities

• Power highly performant, highly available systems for traders worldwide.
• Architect robust systems supporting many trading instruments (Spot, Futures, Perpetual Futures, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to build best-in-class user experiences.
• Translate your ideas into high-value features that customers love.

What We Look for in You

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in handling web-scale traffic.
• Proven ability to design, build, scale, and maintain production services.
• High standards for product excellence, with a strong focus on customer obsession and observability.
• A team player who empowers and cultivates your peers.
• Passionate about staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.

Nice to Haves

• Experience building active trading systems or other high-availability financial systems.
• Active crypto trader or familiarity with other financial instruments.
• Experience scaling systems through rapid growth in a company.
• Experience with upgrading legacy systems or re-architecting next-generation versions.
• Familiarity with Golang, MongoDB, Redis.
• Crypto-forward experience, including onchain activity and blockchain technology.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary Range: $147,000 USD - $174,000 USD (Target annual salary)

🎯 Includes: Base salary, target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
