🚀 The Opportunity

As part of the Developer Experience org under Infrastructure, you’ll join the Server Foundations team — the force behind backend productivity at Coinbase. Your mission? Build the tools, frameworks, and internal libraries that empower hundreds of engineers to ship faster, better, and safer.

You’ll get to work with cutting-edge tech like Go and gRPC, all while scaling infrastructure that supports billions in assets and transactions.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and maintain backend frameworks and shared libraries to improve developer velocity.
• Standardize and automate service creation using gRPC-based communication.
• Refactor legacy codebases, deprecate outdated logic, and boost performance.
• Collaborate across engineering orgs to deliver scalable and consistent backend architecture.
• Own and document architectural decisions that impact teams org-wide.
• Be a go-to problem solver for high-impact backend and server issues.
• Stay current with trends in backend infrastructure, DevEx, and Web3.

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in Go and gRPC (or similar backend technologies).
• Experience building dev tools, SDKs, or internal frameworks for large teams.
• You love clean, scalable code and hold a high bar for quality.
• Bonus if you’ve worked on:
• Legacy code refactoring
• Developer productivity tools
• Scalable backend systems in high-growth environments
• You communicate clearly, love collaboration, and move with urgency.

🧠 Bonus Points

• Experience in FinTech, Crypto, or Blockchain infrastructure
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, containerization
• Interest in Coinbase’s mission and decentralized technologies
• You’ve answered crypto questions on Reddit (just kidding, kind of)
