Position: Software Engineer, Backend (Exchange – Institutional)

Location: United States (Remote-first with some in-person offsites)

Salary Range: $152,405 – $179,300 USD (plus bonus, equity, and full benefits)

This role supports Coinbase’s Derivatives Exchange, focused on low-latency, mission-critical systems for institutional trading clients.

🔧 Your Responsibilities

You’ll:

• Build and scale backend systems powering derivatives trading (likely low-latency microservices)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, build, and launch backend infrastructure
• Own critical services like matching engines, OMS, or risk systems
• Write well-tested, reliable, performant code
• Help shape the architecture and DevOps reliability of Coinbase’s institutional platform
