Overview

Join the Institutional Product Group at Coinbase to help build high-performance backend systems for the Derivatives Exchange. This role involves contributing to mission-critical infrastructure powering sub-millisecond crypto trading, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain distributed backend systems supporting crypto derivatives trading.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Operations).
• Participate in architectural discussions and drive implementation of technical solutions.
• Write well-tested, high-quality code for services powering the Coinbase Institutional platform.

Basic Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade services.
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architectures.
• Passion for crypto and decentralized finance.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with financial trading systems (e.g., matching engines, risk systems).
• Deep understanding of operating systems and performance optimization.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud infrastructure.
