Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, Backend, you will develop frameworks and solutions that support financial risk management at Coinbase. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build risk models, establish key risk metrics, and implement policies for counterparty and collateral management. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining liquidity, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance across Coinbase’s institutional products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend features using Go, APIs, and gRPC.
• Design and maintain relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, Clickhouse).
• Enhance and troubleshoot existing database features, ensuring optimal performance.
• Work on scalable risk solutions that align with Coinbase’s institutional business.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend development with Go (or other high-level languages such as Java/Python).
• Strong expertise in database management using Postgres, Clickhouse, and other relational/non-relational databases.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to optimize and enhance backend systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Deep knowledge of database technology and architecture.
• Experience or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with UI development and UX design.
