About the Role

We’re hiring Backend Software Engineers for our Platform Product Group, which is responsible for building the foundation that powers Coinbase’s crypto-forward products. You’ll work on high-performance systems and services used across multiple Coinbase teams, helping to ensure security, scalability, and efficiency at a global scale. Your work will be instrumental in delivering identity, payment, and financial infrastructure components.

What You’ll Do

• Build backend services using Golang to support key business and product needs.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable cloud-based systems.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to deliver high-quality, well-tested features.
• Help define technical roadmaps and execute them quarter by quarter.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling production-ready services.
• Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and cloud-native principles.
• Ability to write clean, tested, and maintainable code.
• Passion for crypto and building the next generation of financial tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience at a fast-growing startup or in scaling systems.
• Familiarity with blockchain ecosystems (Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc.).
• Experience breaking down monolithic systems into microservices.
• Technical stack familiarity: Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Sinatra, Postgres, MongoDB, Redshift.
• Crypto-native experience such as interacting with Ethereum, ENS, and dApps.

Salary & Benefits

• Pay Range: $149,500 CAD
• Includes bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision).
