About the Role:

As a Software Engineer at PhonePe, you'll design and develop scalable, high-performance web applications, tackle complex technical challenges, and contribute to product-driven innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Build scalable, maintainable web applications and platforms
• Design modules with strong abstraction and contract boundaries
• Solve complex technical and business problems
• Perform impact analysis and make architectural improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute projects
• Drive code quality, performance tuning, and automation
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure timely project execution

Requirements:

• 9+ years of software development experience
• Expert-level coding skills in Java, C, or C++
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and multi-threading
• Experience with RESTful APIs, TDD, and Linux-based development
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL databases (HBase, Elasticsearch, Aerospike)
• Proven experience in building highly scalable systems
• Degree in Computer Science (BTech/MTech/PhD or equivalent)

• Architectural design experience across subsystems
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into executable tasks
