The Player Engagement team is responsible for building features that connect players to their gaming communities, with a focus on creating deeper and more integrated gaming experiences. Join us to drive innovation and growth in this exciting area!

What You’ll Do:

• Develop Gaming Features: Integrate gaming data and experiences directly into the Discord platform to create richer user interactions.
• Collaborate: Work closely with designers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to create features that will be used by over 180 million monthly active users.
• Community Engagement: Focus on systems that help users discover and engage with their gaming communities.
• End-to-End Development: Participate in ideation, implementation, and release of new features.

What You Should Have:

• Experience: 3+ years as a software engineer with experience in web and backend stacks.
• User-Facing Features: Proven experience building features that drive user engagement.
• Problem Solving: Ability to work on ambiguous problems and define innovative solutions with a collaborative team.
• Attention to Detail: A passion for building high-quality, user-centric features.
• Growth Mindset: Willingness to learn from both successes and mistakes to continuously improve.
• Team Collaboration: Strong sense of shared ownership and willingness to explore unfamiliar parts of the tech stack.

Bonus Points:

• Discord Experience: Familiarity with using Discord for gaming communities.
• Gaming APIs: Knowledge of or experience working with gaming data.
• Tech Stack: Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Python, or Rust.
• Gaming Passion: Strong interest in gaming and gaming communities.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $160,000 to $180,000 annually, based on experience, with equity and benefits.
