The Player Engagement team builds experiences that bring gaming data and interactive features right into Discord, helping players connect even more deeply with their favorite games and communities.

As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll develop features that drive engagement, work across web and backend stacks, and collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver magic to millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Develop features that integrate gaming data directly into the Discord platform.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to build impactful features.
• Create systems to help users discover and engage with gaming communities.
• Contribute across all stages of development, from ideation to release.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software engineering experience (web and backend stacks).
• Experience building user-facing features that drive engagement and retention.
• Passion for impact — you’re excited to help make gaming a bigger part of Discord’s future.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering delightful user experiences.
• A growth mindset and a strong sense of shared ownership.

Bonus Points

• Personal experience with Discord gaming communities.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with gaming APIs or gaming data.
• Deep love for gaming and gaming communities!
