📌 Position: Staff Blockchain Security Architect

🚀 Role Overview:

• Lead security efforts for Coinbase’s blockchain and onchain infrastructure.
• Secure digital assets from protocols to wallets with a focus on blockchain technology.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and tooling teams to build secure smart contracts and blockchain tools.
• Influence and drive security architecture, threat modeling, and tooling automation.
• Stay ahead of blockchain innovations (e.g., zero-knowledge proofs, novel protocols).
• Share knowledge through internal/external talks and publications.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and fix gaps in security infrastructure.
• Perform security assessments, threat modeling, and framework development.
• Advise engineering teams on secure architecture for blockchain and smart contracts.
• Drive tooling roadmap for blockchain security tools internally.
• Automate processes, develop proofs of concept, and write technical requirements.
• Track blockchain ecosystem changes and innovations.
• Communicate findings through talks and blog posts.

✅ Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years in blockchain technology, with 4+ years specifically in blockchain security.
• Deep understanding of EVM-based blockchains and crypto ecosystem fundamentals (DEXs, NFTs, smart contracts, etc.).
• Experience with threat models of crypto custodians and security-critical backend crypto systems.
• Leadership and mentorship experience.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly crypto-forward mindset and knowledge of recent EIPs and innovations.

🌟 Nice to Haves:

• Knowledge of non-EVM blockchain security architectures.
• Deep cryptography expertise (zk-SNARKs, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, Multi-Party Computation).

💰 Compensation:

• Salary Range: $218,025 - $256,500 USD + bonus + benefits
