As a Staff Product Designer on our Social Layer (Slayer) Team, you’ll play a leadership role in shaping how games and social interactions seamlessly integrate. You'll work closely with top gaming platforms like Xbox and PlayStation, game studios from AAA to indie, and a cross-disciplinary team of UX researchers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists.

You’ll push the boundaries of design at Discord, leading product vision, refining user experiences, and setting the gold standard for gaming-driven social design.

What You'll Be Doing

• Craft and own the visual quality standard for your team’s features.
• Collaborate with gaming platforms and studios to build integrations that align with their unique UX and art styles.
• Partner with the Slayer Design Director to define and deliver a cohesive product vision.
• Present and pitch your designs to peers and executives to drive strategic alignment.
• Influence your team's roadmap based on deep user understanding and product strategy.
• Share best practices and develop workshops to uplift design excellence across Discord.
• Contribute to and enhance Discord’s design system with new patterns and solutions.
• Champion a culture of open feedback and cross-functional collaboration.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years designing consumer-facing products, preferably in gaming or entertainment.
• Deep passion for gaming and a strong understanding of player experiences.
• Experience improving developer experiences and building community-driven features.
• Leadership in design execution, product storytelling, and cross-team influence.
• Excellent communication skills, from pitching ideas to developing product roadmaps.
• Strategic thinker — you seek to understand the "why" behind every decision.
• High level of design craft with hands-on experience from concept through implementation.
• Portfolio showcasing major, high-impact projects across multiple platforms and devices.
• Experience contributing to or leading improvements in a design system.
