Coinbase is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Backend - Identity team. This role involves developing a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to support user onboarding. You’ll be working with the core systems that are critical to Coinbase’s operations and shaping the platform for launching new products and expanding into new regions.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and develop a scalable platform for user onboarding that aligns with Coinbase’s growth strategy.
• Lead technical initiatives, define strategic roadmaps, and manage project priorities and deliverables.
• Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of high-quality code and best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and leadership, to turn ideas into tangible product roadmaps.
• Write clean, well-tested code to meet business needs.
• Drive the multi-year strategy for platform engineering in collaboration with technical leadership.

What We Look For:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong background in service-oriented architecture (2+ years).
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of quality and high standards.
• Passionate about building an open financial system that empowers the world.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Golang, gRPC, and MongoDB.
