About the Role

Coinbase is looking for a Team Lead to oversee Transaction Monitoring Compliance Operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of 12-15 analysts, working to combat money laundering and ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. As a natural leader, you’ll take charge of identifying areas for improvement and implementing operational solutions. Your leadership will be key in scaling Coinbase’s AML operations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build and grow a high-performing, world-class team.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Hire, lead, and develop a diverse, high-performing team. Set up the organization for success through investments in career growth and development.
• Operational Excellence: Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews to instill a customer-focused and operational excellence culture across the Transaction Monitoring Services (TMS) teams.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Compliance, Program Management, Workforce Management, Vendor Management, Analytics, Quality Assurance, and other operational support partners to create and scale operational mechanisms to improve productivity and quality.
• Process Improvement: Utilize your Compliance experience to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to business challenges.
• Policy & Procedures: Drive standard work, collect feedback, and collaborate to drive improvements to Policy & Procedures.

What Coinbase is Looking For

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in managing analysts directly, with 2+ years of proven experience in Transaction Monitoring Services (TMS) in financial services or technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of laws, regulations, and risk management practices for financial services, particularly around AML.
• Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively interface with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
• Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in PowerPoint/Google Slides and Excel/Google Sheets.
• A BA/BS degree in business, finance, or other related fields.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with multiple AML systems (e.g., KYC, AML, and Sanctions).
• Experience working with or exposure to financial services regulators.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CRCM, CAMS, CIA, CISA, CICA).
• Familiarity with Google apps, JIRA, and Salesforce Service Cloud.
