As part of our rapid growth, we are enhancing and rebuilding our financial core. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Systems team and help architect, build, and optimize our ledgering systems and financial APIs.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Swan, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and improving the financial infrastructure that powers our platform. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, security, and scalability of Swan’s core financial systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

🔹 Architect & Design: Develop data models and systems related to financial ledgering.

🔹 Integration: Work with open-source and commercial ledgering, reconciliation, accounting, and reporting systems.

🔹 Documentation: Diagram and document complex financial workflows to ensure clarity across teams.

🔹 Optimization: Reduce complexity through refactoring, modularization, and simplification of our core infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

✅ Senior-Level Experience in Financial Systems

• 5+ years of total software development experience, with at least 2 years in fintech, banking, trust companies, or financial institutions.
• Deep knowledge of SQL, data modeling, REST APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Experience working on ledgering, reconciliation, or accounting systems.

✅ Technical Skills

• Strong software architecture skills and ability to design scalable financial systems.
• Commitment to clean code, unit testing, and excellent documentation.
• Experience with Node.js (preferred) or similar backend environments.
• AWS experience is a big plus.

✅ Work Ethic & Collaboration

• Ability to self-organize work and thrive in a fully remote team.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working across different teams and stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with a passion for Bitcoin and financial technology.
