Job Description:

We are looking for talented 3D Animator Artists to join our expanding Global Art Team. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team to create dynamic, story-driven animations that bring characters, objects, and worlds to life in video games. Whether you are animating heroes, monsters, crowds, or objects, you will focus on creating intuitive and compelling movements that are integral to in-game experiences. The position is remote and offers flexibility in working styles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Animation Creation: Develop high-quality 2D/3D animations for characters, props, creatures, and special effects, ensuring all animations are impactful, engaging, and consistent with the game's style.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the art, design, and engineering teams to ensure animations are optimized for the best in-game performance.
• Storytelling through Animation: Focus on bringing life and narrative to your animations, ensuring that movement has purpose, intent, and is aligned with the character's behavior and context within the game.
• Iterate and Improve: Provide multiple creative animation options and iterate on them based on feedback to meet the highest quality standards.
• Optimization: Ensure animations work smoothly within the game's engine and that they are optimized for performance.
• Tools Proficiency: Use tools like Maya, After Effects, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate CC) to create and polish animations. Experience with Unity or other game engines is a plus.
• Mentoring and Guidance: Assist in guiding and mentoring junior animators to improve the team's overall skill level and pipeline efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: BA in Art Media, Graphic Design, Computer Animation, Illustration, Digital Arts, or equivalent experience.
• Professional Experience: Previous experience in AAA, indie, or mobile games, or a strong passion for gaming and understanding of the gaming industry.
• Animation Skills: Strong knowledge of 2D/3D animation techniques, including character animation, facial expressions, keyframe animation, and motion design.
• Tools & Software: Proficiency in Maya, Motion Capture, and other 2D/3D editing software (After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC).
• Creative & Technical Skills: A good understanding of creative briefs, time management, and an ability to work with tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail in animation flow, function, and aesthetics.
• Collaborative Attitude: A strong team player who is receptive to feedback and works effectively with others to streamline and improve the animation pipelines.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

• Additional Skills: Proficiency with Unity or other game engines, experience in texturing, rigging, and particle effects creation programs.
• Artistic Background: A solid background in academic drawing, sketching, or illustration, with the ability to create art in a variety of styles and genres.
• Rigging Knowledge: Understanding of the 2D/3D rigging process and how it integrates into game engines.
