This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, making it ideal for experienced developers ready to step into architectural leadership.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IBM Application Architect, you will:

• Lead Solution Architecture
• Define the scope, architecture, and vision for projects that modernize and optimize enterprise applications, particularly through software conversion initiatives.
• Modernize Legacy Systems
• Design and implement Java-based solutions to refactor legacy applications using automated tools like CTU. Maintain and integrate Java support libraries, and tailor solutions to client needs.
• Code, Test, Deliver
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code using modern Java practices, contributing to both project acceleration and client satisfaction.
• Build CI/CD & Automation
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate tasks, and enhance delivery speed and quality.
• Collaborate Across Functions
• Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, developers, and technical leaders, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong experience with Core Java and libraries such as:
• Spring Framework
• Guava
• Apache Commons
• Guice (Dependency Injection)
• JPA (Java Persistence API)
• Solid understanding of SQL, ORM, and relational database systems
• Familiarity with MVS/COBOL/JCL for legacy integration
• Experience in CI/CD practices with tools like Git, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, Jira
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Exposure to Cloud platforms and Kubernetes
• Skills in Performance Tuning for enterprise applications
• Familiarity with compilation technologies, ANTLR, or XText

Education

🎓 Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
