Overview:
The engineering team at Chainalysis is driven by solving some of the most challenging technical problems and building products that create trust in cryptocurrencies. With a global presence across teams in Denmark, UK, Canada, and the USA, our job is to create products that help our customers navigate the evolving world of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. As we continue to innovate and adapt to the rapidly changing industry, we're looking for a Blockchain Engineer II to join our team and contribute to building the data platform for blockchain and web3 technologies.
About the Role:
The Protocol Acquisition (PA) team, part of the Blockchain Foundations group, is focused on ingesting cryptocurrency blockchain data. As a Blockchain Engineer, you will design, build, and develop large-scale data systems that provide the foundational data on which all Chainalysis products are built. You will contribute to creating scalable, reliable, and efficient systems for parsing and ingesting blockchain data, enabling faster and more efficient onboarding of blockchain chains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a solid understanding of technical systems and use cases for the team’s data systems.
- Use your knowledge of crypto and software engineering to design and develop technical systems focused on reliability and scalability.
- Develop scalable, reliable, efficient, and performant data systems for ingesting and parsing cryptocurrency blockchain data.
- Work on scaling up the collection of blockchain data, enabling faster onboarding of new blockchains with greater efficiency.
- Provide blockchain and cryptocurrency expertise to the team and other parts of the company.
- Collaborate with peers in PA and other teams to help solve complex problems.
- Support production services, including debugging and maintenance.
We’re Looking For Candidates Who Have:
- Experience designing and implementing microservices-based systems using a major cloud provider like AWS or GCP. AWS experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with multiple blockchains and technologies (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Optimistic rollups, ZK rollups, etc.).
- Experience in software and data engineering environments.
- A bias to ship and iterate alongside product management teams.
- Strong technical background with 5+ years of experience in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and backend software development.
