Department Description
As part of the Industrial, Consumer, and Energy (ICE) team, the Industry Advisor team plays a crucial role in driving Salesforce's growth. We solve real-world problems, identify optimal solutions, and build deep trust with both internal and external stakeholders. Our goal is to bring the customer and industry lens to everything we do and ensure Salesforce is seen as a thought leader and strategic partner in the industries we support.
Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Industry Advisor Director for Utilities to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the existing advisory team to define strategy for the AMER market. You will be responsible for developing a strong point of view, keeping up-to-date with industry trends, and leading the strategic customer engagements. You'll work with C-level executives to ensure Salesforce is positioned as the preferred partner in the utilities industry. Your role will be essential in helping us expand and enhance relationships with key stakeholders and driving Salesforce's success in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Industry Expertise: Leverage your in-depth industry knowledge to bring an agnostic perspective on various industry topics, elevating customer conversations and creating internal and external discussions with influential industry leaders.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with AMER Operational Unit (OU) leaders to ensure alignment with priorities and strategies, crafting customized solutions for customer engagements.
- Customer Engagements: Engage with customers in strategic meetings, roundtable discussions, and individual sessions to build relationships, showcase your industry expertise, and promote Salesforce’s value.
- Account Strategy: Act as a trusted advisor to the sales team, providing valuable insights into customer needs and creating customized Salesforce solutions to meet their objectives.
- Global Strategy Execution: Work alongside global marketing, go-to-market, and solution engineering teams to drive consistent strategies across markets.
Your Impact
- Own the strategy for account planning and target opportunities, converting those strategies into actionable account plans.
- Tailor Salesforce solutions and messaging for customers, driving customer satisfaction and engagement.
- Foster long-term relationships with C-level executives to support their digital transformation goals.
- Drive the adoption of Salesforce's industry clouds and solutions, ensuring the success of key accounts in the utilities industry.
Minimum Requirements
- Expertise in the utilities industry with experience working directly in or consulting for this vertical.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing geographically dispersed teams with diverse competencies.
- Deep understanding of industry trends and challenges in utilities, particularly in digital transformation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, capable of creating thought leadership content.
- Experience engaging with C-level executives and translating industry trends into actionable strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience in utilities management or demonstrated success across multiple organizations in the industry.
- Active participation in leading industry associations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven success in a matrixed, collaborative environment.

For Illinois-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $228,130 to $335,720.
