Role Summary

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join our London or Jersey office. You will be a key player in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency across a wide range of hedge fund products.

This role requires an eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders—including senior management, auditors, and fund administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Fund Expense Management: Review fund expenses, assist in preparing annual fund budgets, and calculate Total Expense Ratios (TERs).
• NAV Oversight: Reconcile internal books with Fund Administrator NAV reports on both daily and monthly cycles.
• Reconciliations: Monitor cash, securities, and derivative reconciliations for consistency and accuracy.
• Daily P&L and Analysis: Produce and analyze daily trading P&L across asset classes, flagging discrepancies and performance drivers.
• Investor Allocations: Prepare and validate investor allocations, ensuring fee structures match fund documentation.
• Month-End Close: Support the close process with reconciliations and timely submission of NAVs.
• Pricing Validation: Verify market prices for all tradable positions to ensure fair valuations.
• Regulatory & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and assist in audit processes as required.
• Stakeholder Queries: Address ad hoc requests from investment teams, operations, and external auditors.
• Projects & Process Improvement: Participate in ongoing system upgrades, automation initiatives, and product development.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Progress toward or possession of a professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Experience in a regulated financial environment or fund operations.
• Strong understanding of NAV controls, fund accounting processes, and valuation principles.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including reconciliation tools and data analysis.

Desirable

• Exposure to price verification processes and controls.
• Previous experience liaising with Fund Administrators and involvement in daily NAV production.
• Familiarity with hedge fund structures, financial instruments, and fee models.
