Team: Global Trading Operations (GTO)

The Global Trading Operations (GTO) team is responsible for supporting the firm’s trading desks, particularly in areas such as energy trading, trade reconciliation, and settlement. As an Operations Specialist on the Energy team, you'll work closely with traders, commercial operations, risk, business management, technology, and compliance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

What You’ll Do

• Operational Ownership: Take command of processes supporting DRW’s Energy trading desks, including trade reconciliation, confirmation, and settlement.
• Liaise with Internal and External Teams: Work with internal teams like risk, technology, and business management and external parties like brokers, exchanges, and counterparties.
• Super-User Role: Act as a super-user for current workflows and systems, resolving issues and recommending enhancements for technology, workflows, and processes.
• Risk Management: Gain an in-depth understanding of traders' risk management tools and support them with related needs.
• Technology & Process Improvement: Upgrade and support tools for traders, collaborating with technical teams to implement better process efficiency and risk reduction.
• Onboarding Support: Work with the Business Liaison team to ensure new desks, traders, and products are onboarded correctly.

What We’re Looking For

🎓 Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in confirming and settling gas and power trades, including swaps, forwards, options, and bespoke trade structures.
• Experience supporting transmission (TSO) and storage (SSO) system operators is a plus.
• Prior experience in European energy markets (e.g., EEX and ICE) is beneficial.

🛠️ Technical Skills:

• Experience using the Endur CTRM system and Trayport execution platforms is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Excel (familiarity with VBA preferred).
• Ability to work with databases and APIs; Python coding skills are a plus.

🧠 Soft Skills:

• Problem-solving ability and quick thinking.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining control over sensitive financial data.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced trading environment.

🌍 Knowledge of Regulations:

• Familiarity with European energy regulations like REMIT is a plus.
