🧠 Key Responsibilities

You will play a dual role — applying machine learning to improve user experience and building foundational ML infrastructure.

🔬 Applied ML Work

• Develop models for:
• Fraud detection
• Feed ranking / recommendation
• LLM-based chatbots
• Blockchain analysis (e.g., mining)
• Work on production-grade ML systems with low maintenance and high availability.

🛠 Platform & Enablement

• Build internal ML tools, onboarding codelabs, and reusable infrastructure.
• Help democratize ML across Coinbase engineering teams (think: internal ML platform engineer + applied scientist hybrid role).

🔧 Core Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer (with heavy ML focus)
• Proven ability to build backend systems at scale for data processing, analytics, or ML.
• Solid grasp of one or more ML models/methods such as:
• LLMs
• Graph Neural Networks (GNN)
• Deep Learning
• Gradient Boosting, Logistic Regression

🧠 Domain Knowledge

• Experience or knowledge in:
• Information retrieval
• Natural language processing
• Data mining / statistics
• Computer vision (even basic exposure is a plus)

💎 Nice-to-Haves

• Degree (BS/MS/PhD) in CS, ML, Statistics, or related field
• Strong experience in:
• Python (for ML pipelines)
