Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in scaling, securing, and optimizing the shared backend services that power the Uniswap ecosystem. You'll work across the entire stack to drive strategic initiatives, enhance system reliability, and empower other engineers through best practices and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that support Uniswap’s shared services.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and review code from other team members.
• Provide technical leadership, guiding peers through architectural and coding tradeoffs.
• Drive strategic technical initiatives that impact the entire engineering organization.
• Improve developer productivity and system reliability through automation and best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on backend infrastructure.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Go, or Rust.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud constructs, architecture, and scalable systems.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale production systems.
• Strong debugging skills and the ability to build systems from the ground up (0→1).
• Passion for building scalable, reliable backend systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Pulumi is a plus).
• Knowledge of distributed systems, authentication, and developer tooling.
• Computer Science degree.
• Blockchain/DeFi experience or strong interest.
