Join Canva’s AI team to lead cutting-edge research in generative AI focused on video and audio. You’ll work at the intersection of foundational model development, product integration, and research innovation, helping shape Canva’s AI roadmap and delivering real-world impact to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead advanced research on foundational models in video and audio generation.
• Design and execute experiments to optimize model behavior and performance.
• Develop and deploy production-ready generative AI systems.
• Invent new architectures and training techniques that advance the state of the art.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to scale and integrate models into Canva’s product.
• Influence the long-term AI research roadmap.
• Share knowledge internally and externally (documentation, talks, papers).

Requirements

• Deep expertise in machine learning and foundational model development.
• Experience with generative AI for video synthesis and audio generation.
• Proven track record in research (publications or industry impact).
• Ability to drive research from conception to deployment.
• Strong problem-solving, implementation, and evaluation skills.
• Collaborative and cross-functional communication skills.
