What You Will Do:

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key player in driving the development of Avalanche Bridge technology, which connects Avalanche with leading networks like Ethereum and Bitcoin. This high-performance, secure infrastructure facilitates seamless cross-chain transfers and asset interoperability. You’ll have a direct impact on blockchain innovation as you work on improving these bridges, ensuring their security, scalability, and efficiency.

• Lead the technical execution of Avalanche Bridge projects, from initial planning through to release.
• Design and optimize novel cross-chain transfer protocols to improve interoperability and reduce transaction costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, business, and engineering, to align technical strategies with business goals.
• Develop automated testing suites to ensure reliability and robustness of blockchain systems.
• Work with our Infrastructure and Security teams to monitor the production systems and support the release of new features (participating in an on-call rotation).

What You Will Bring:

• BS in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with blockchain technology, consensus protocols, distributed systems, applied cryptography, or similar areas.
• Expertise in C++ and Golang programming languages.
• Strong understanding of blockchain systems and distributed systems, including transaction formats, consensus mechanisms, and light clients.
• Proficiency with cryptographic primitives used in blockchain systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with cross-chain protocols and smart contract development is a plus.
• Prior team leadership experience is a bonus, as we look for someone who can guide and mentor junior engineers.
