About the Job:

Conduit is building the rollup-native cloud platform to scale Ethereum and solve key blockchain challenges related to on-chain compute. Their platform simplifies the process of launching and maintaining your own blockchain, akin to how AWS and GCP scaled web2 compute. After its successful launch in 2023, Conduit has become a major player in the crypto ecosystem, managing over $1B in total-value-locked (TVL) and scaling Ethereum with rollup technology. Now, they are seeking a Protocol Engineer to join their elite team and help push the limits of blockchain scalability, security, and interoperability.

Responsibilities:

• Protocol Design & Development:
• Lead the design and implementation of protocol-level enhancements, including sequencer hardening, fee disbursement, and state validation.
• Collaborate with the backend team to integrate both on-chain and off-chain functionalities.
• Cross-Chain Interoperability:
• Develop solutions to enable seamless interoperability between multiple blockchain networks.
• Design and implement cross-chain messaging systems while understanding the risks and primitives involved.
• Security & Optimization:
• Conduct security screenings of smart contracts and identify vulnerabilities.
• Optimize protocol performance, focusing on improving finality and reducing latency.
• Research & Innovation:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest blockchain developments and propose protocol-level innovations.
• Identify new opportunities to differentiate Conduit by solving key pain points in the rollup ecosystem.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work with the rollups product team to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Take ownership and work independently on tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in GoLang and/or Rust – Experience with backend software engineering.
• Experience with blockchain protocols and rollups – Demonstrated ability to design and implement blockchain-related projects, especially those involving cross-chain functionality.
• Solid understanding of Solidity and smart contract development.
• Deep understanding of on-chain and off-chain infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving abilities – Ability to convert high-level concepts into practical solutions.
• Experience with Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchain networks.
• Crypto Native with an in-depth understanding of blockchain technology and the space.
• Mechanism design understanding.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with validator-type protocols and staking mechanisms.
• Knowledge of DeFi protocols, governance, and synthetic assets.
• Understanding of bridge and fast bridge technologies.

Tech Stack:

• Kubernetes, Postgres, and Cloud Tasks on GCP for infrastructure.
• React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, and Postgres for product development.
• Current production frameworks include Arbitrum Orbit and Optimism rollups.
