Position Overview:

ZoomInfo is hiring a Senior Data Scientist – Information Retrieval & NLP to help build and scale transformative machine learning systems. You'll be responsible for leading projects in neural search (RAG, transformers), named-entity recognition (NER), and large-scale entity resolution that touch billions of records and power millions of daily queries. This is a highly strategic role with deep technical ownership, strong cross-functional visibility, and tangible business impact.

What You’ll Do:

Information Retrieval (IR):

• Design and deploy Transformer/RAG architectures to optimize the search and retrieval of contact, company, and business insights.
• Implement quantization, distillation, and fine-tuning to ensure low-latency, cost-effective model performance at petabyte scale.
• Build hybrid dense/sparse retrieval pipelines using vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, or OpenSearch.

NER & Entity Resolution:

• Develop high-accuracy NER models that tag people, organizations, and geo/industry entities across multi-language content.
• Build real-time, large-scale entity resolution systems that deduplicate and link hundreds of millions of records, using knowledge-graph signals where applicable.

Experimentation & Metrics:

• Design large-scale A/B tests and back-testing plans to validate models and drive KPIs.
• Translate product objectives into measurable ML outcomes, influencing roadmaps and capacity planning.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Thought Leadership:

• Mentor junior engineers and scientists, write internal documentation, and contribute to external publications or conference presentations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and leadership to align ML efforts with business strategy.

What You Bring:

• Experience: 7+ years in ML/NLP (or 4+ years post-Master’s/PhD), with at least two successful product launches that delivered business value.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep knowledge of Transformer models (BERT, GPT, T5), RAG, and vector-based IR.
• Proven success in NER and entity-resolution at 100M+ scale.
• Experience with knowledge graphs is a plus.
• Strong programming in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow); Go/Java a plus.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, feature stores, model registries).
• Communication: Comfortable presenting findings to executive and non-technical audiences; able to drive strategy and investment conversations.
