About the Role:

Udemy is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) to lead a team of engineers in managing and scaling the company's infrastructure. The SRE team at Udemy is responsible for everything from CDN infrastructure to databases, as well as load balancing, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD systems. This role involves managing a distributed team and collaborating with directors, engineers, and architects to build a sustainable infrastructure roadmap.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead a team of 7 engineers across Ireland and the U.S.
• Collaborate with senior leaders like directors, principal engineers, and architects to develop a long-term, sustainable infrastructure roadmap that supports both internal and external customers.
• Upskill and coach your team, focusing on career development and building a high-performing culture.
• Manage infrastructure with tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Teleport.
• Work with microservices written in Kotlin to meet internal customer needs.

What You’ll Need:

• 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure-focused teams, preferably in cloud technologies (AWS experience is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python (GoLang and Kotlin are advantageous).
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback in a professional manner.
• Leadership and coaching skills to help develop the team’s potential.
