• 💡 Team: CETI (Consumer Engineering Test Infrastructure), within the Platform Product Group

🧠 Why This Role Matters

The CETI team is Coinbase’s internal engine for automated testing and infrastructure innovation. Their mission is to ensure product behaviors can be validated at scale early in development, enabling engineers to ship more reliably and confidently.

You won’t just be writing test cases — you’ll be building the tools and infrastructure that power how all Coinbase products are tested across their lifecycle.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems that support robust, automated test infrastructure from scratch
• Enable CI/CD pipelines to include automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Apply AI/ML to catch flaky tests, improve coverage, and build self-healing automation
• Improve developer velocity and confidence through high-impact tooling
• Define KPIs around test effectiveness, release stability, and developer productivity
• Partner cross-functionally with product and platform teams to drive quality and release engineering best practices

✅ Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven experience building, scaling, and maintaining backend services (ideally in microservice environments)
• Strong understanding of testability, testing frameworks, and release pipelines
• History of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Collaborative mindset with an eye on organizational impact
• Passion for open financial systems and blockchain technology

• Experience during high-growth startup-to-scale-up transitions
• Familiarity with growth experimentation (e.g., A/B testing frameworks)
• Background in decomposing monoliths into scalable services
• Tech stack experience with:
• Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails

• Experience in high-reliability or financial-grade systems
• Understanding or use of Ethereum, ENS, dApps, or other onchain technologies
