This is a cutting-edge AI/LLM platform team building infrastructure that powers customer-facing AI tools at Coinbase. The goal is to democratize AI access — allowing users to utilize or customize LLMs like GPT to solve domain-specific problems in crypto and fintech.

You’ll work on:

• Architecting scalable backend systems to support LLM integrations
• Building the LLM platform for internal and external customer experience use cases
• Making generative AI a core part of Coinbase’s customer experience stack

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale production-grade services using Golang
• Lead development of a platform supporting LLM use cases across Coinbase
• Own and evolve core backend services, APIs, and integrations with 3rd parties
• Manage priorities, delivery timelines, and technical tradeoffs
• Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and drive high standards
• Ensure code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability
• Work across product, engineering, and design to align on roadmap and deliverables

✅ Must-Have Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in backend/software engineering
• Deep experience in service-oriented architecture and scalable distributed systems
• Proficiency with Golang and cloud-native architectures
• Strong skills in designing, debugging, and owning backend services end-to-end
• History of mentoring engineers and leading by technical example
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
• Excellent written/verbal communication; collaborative and transparent mindset

• Experience during hypergrowth scaling phases (startup to mid-size transitions)
• Background with AI/LLMs or NLP infrastructure
• Familiarity with tools like:
• Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB
