🚀 Team Mission & Scope

The Data Platform Team builds the internal infrastructure to collect, process, and make available both internal and external data across Coinbase. Their mission is to power analytics, ML, and end-user experiences through data pipelines and scalable backend systems.

You’d be working on:

• Core backend systems for data ingestion, processing, and storage
• Internal tools and pipelines that serve other teams
• Foundational infrastructure for company-wide analytics and ML use cases

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

• Build backend services using Golang
• Design and maintain scalable, resilient cloud-based systems
• Own the end-to-end delivery of data systems — from integration with vendors to internal data exposure
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and leadership to shape quarterly roadmaps
• Write clean, testable code, and participate in reviews
• Troubleshoot and improve performance, reliability, and observability
• Review designs across teams and ensure secure, scalable systems
• Work with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, etc.) and infrastructure tools like Terraform

✅ Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering
• Solid background in service-oriented architecture and production systems
• Proficiency in Golang (or similar server-side languages)
• Comfortable with cloud-native development
• Strong system design, testing, and debugging skills
• Passion for open financial systems and working in fast-paced environments

• Experience with Ruby, Terraform, or infrastructure as code
• Background working in regulated industries (e.g., fintech, health tech)
• Experience in rapidly scaling startups or hyper-growth companies
• Contributions to internal documentation or training resources
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, or cloud data platforms
