Join the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), a mission-driven team that has been fueling the growth of the Stellar blockchain network since 2014. SDF is expanding to support the rapidly growing Stellar ecosystem, and we’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to our Wallet team.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Wallets, you’ll work on products that connect end-users to the Stellar network, including Freighter (our flagship wallet) and other open-source libraries and services. Your work will be at the intersection of scale and usability, ensuring secure, efficient, and user-friendly interactions with the Stellar blockchain.

Key Responsibilities

• Build cutting-edge blockchain-powered financial applications.
• Drive all aspects of wallet development, from vision to implementation.
• Design new developer-facing APIs that enhance ecosystem functionality.
• Develop and maintain scalable web services to support Stellar-powered applications.
• Define standardized protocols and best practices to improve developer velocity across the ecosystem.
• Engage with the open-source community, reviewing code and collaborating on innovative ideas.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure seamless API scalability.
• Author detailed technical specifications (RFCs) to drive our robust design process.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a collaborative, product-driven environment.
• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval).
• Experience developing server applications in Go, Python, Rust, C#, Java, or C++.
• Ability to design and implement scalable, reusable, and modular software architectures.
• Experience deploying and maintaining production web services at scale.
• Excellent technical communication skills and ability to lead design discussions.
• Passion for crypto, DeFi, and Web3 with a strong product-driven mindset.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with blockchain technology and smart contracts.
• Experience building data pipelines for financial applications.
• Active contributions to open-source projects.
• Proficiency with Go and Node.js.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $170,000 - $260,000 USD (based on experience & location)
