Orca is seeking a senior software engineer to help accelerate progress toward this vision.

Responsibilities

• Design and Implement Scalable Servers in Rust:
• Build high-performance servers deployed on AWS that interface with the Solana network and Orca’s web application.
• Develop Data Processing Pipelines:
• Create systems for processing blockchain data, with a focus on reliability and low latency.
• Advance Application Features:
• Use these backend servers to build essential features like real-time monitoring, automated transaction execution, and token balance analytics.
• Manage Database Interactions:
• Handle data storage and management using PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and efficient retrieval.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven Track Record:
• Experience in developing performant services at scale, ideally within finance or related industries. The ability to analyze complex systems and solve problems efficiently is key.
• Educational Background:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Balanced Mindset:
• Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous environment but also enjoy collaborating as a team. Passionate about certain technologies but flexible in using trade-offs in different scenarios.
• Technical Skills:
• Experience with Rust is a plus but not required. A strong interest in building high-performance backend systems is essential.
• AI Forwardness:
• Openness to leveraging AI tools to enhance developer productivity and workflows. Curious about the evolving AI landscape.
• Understanding of DeFi:
• Familiarity with how AMMs (Automated Market Makers) work and experience with the Solana ecosystem is important. A user of DeFi apps on Solana or other chains is a plus.

• Salary: $160,000 - $220,000 USDC (for US employees).

Hiring Process

• Initial Screen (50-60 min):
• The screen focuses on your experience with Solana, DeFi, and your overall fit for the role. You may also be asked to complete a coding exercise to evaluate your technical proficiency.
• Final Round (60 min each) + COO Chat (20 min):
• Three back-to-back open-ended coding interviews with an engineering lead and two engineers.
• A conversation with Isaac, the COO, to learn about Orca’s vision and future.
