About the Role

The Platform Product Group at Coinbase is hiring experienced backend engineers to help build the next generation of products and features. You’ll work on solving large-scale, complex technical problems at the intersection of web-scale applications and blockchain technology. The goal is to create real-time, low-latency applications and manage a secure, cloud-based infrastructure. As part of the Platform Product Group, you will contribute to projects that span multiple teams, ensuring scalability, compliance, and quality across Coinbase’s products.

Key Responsibilities

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang.
• Design scalable systems that solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
• Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and leadership to execute product and technical roadmaps.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of customers.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling production services, with a solid understanding of service-oriented architecture.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested backend code.
• A strong passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with rapid growth in a company (e.g., from startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
• Experience decomposing large monoliths into microservices.
• Proficiency with technologies like Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or Redshift.
• Experience with building financial systems, high-reliability systems, or secure systems.
• Crypto-forward experience, such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary Range: $147,900 USD – $174,000 USD

🎯 Includes: Base salary + target bonus + target equity + benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
