Role & Responsibilities

As a Markets & On-Chain Analyst at CoinDesk, you will combine the roles of a financial analyst and a journalist, delivering in-depth and data-driven insights into the cryptocurrency and blockchain markets. You will be expected to:

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis of the cryptocurrency and blockchain markets.
• Use on-chain data analytics platforms (e.g., Dune Analytics, Nansen, Glassnode) to identify market trends and inform insights.
• Write, produce, and edit articles, reports, and features on crypto-related topics, such as DeFi, NFTs, and regulatory developments.
• Investigate project tokenomics and identify potential scams, vulnerabilities, or market shifts.
• Build a network of key industry contacts to gather exclusive insights and inform your reporting.
• Collaborate with editors and multimedia producers to ensure accuracy and engaging presentation of content.
• Report on market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the crypto space.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a journalist, analyst, or researcher with a portfolio of work showing your deep understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets, financial models, and market trends.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
• Experience using AI tools to assist in research and content production.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools and on-chain data analysis.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a solid understanding of journalistic ethics.
• A strong understanding of financial principles, technical analysis, and risk management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• A passion for crypto and Web3, with a commitment to staying informed in an ever-evolving space.
• A degree in Journalism, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.

Bonus Points For

• Knowledge of traditional finance markets such as equities, bonds, and other asset classes.
• Experience with various trading platforms and exchanges.
• Familiarity with crypto social media and community platforms (e.g., Twitter, Telegram, Discord).
• Experience in creating multimedia content (e.g., videos, podcasts).

Work Setup

This position will be based in the UK/EURO region, with onsite work required 2-3 days a week in CoinDesk’s offices in London, Lisbon, or Frankfurt. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or an EU member state at the time of application or be able to obtain the right to work before their start date.
