šÆšµ Strategic Account Manager ā Japan (Remote)
š¢ Who They're Looking For
An elite, relationship-driven enterprise seller with deep experience managing complex, high-value accounts (especially in financial services) in Japan. This role focuses heavily on executive-level influence, strategic sales planning, and value-based selling.
š§© Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic account planning (especially in Japanās FSI sector)
- Own and expand long-term relationships with major customers
- Collaborate across GitHub and Microsoftās ecosystem
- Run C-level conversations, from engineering to procurement
- Build and influence champions and centers of excellence (CoE)
- Use methodologies like MEDDPICC and Challenger to close complex deals
- Sell the business value of GitHubās platform, not just features
- Forecast revenue, manage pipeline via Salesforce CRM
- Align GitHubās solutions to measurable ROI and innovation strategy
š Minimum Requirements
You must meet one of the following:
- 9+ years in tech-related sales
- OR Bachelorās + 7 years
- OR MBA + 5 years
- OR equivalent experience
ā Also required:
- Native Japanese + business-level English
- Enterprise sales experience in Japan, ideally within FSI
- Hands-on with top-down and bottom-up sales
- Skilled in MEDDPICC or Challenger methodology
ā Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in strategic enterprise sales
- Background selling DevOps, AppSec, or AI
- Familiarity with subscription/consumption-based pricing
- Ability to coordinate across global time zones
- Willingness to travel post-pandemic for client meetings
