Udemy is looking for an AI Systems Engineer to join their team and contribute to building scalable AI systems for real-world applications. This is an opportunity to work on a variety of AI use cases, from rapid prototyping to enterprise-grade deployments. If you're passionate about designing and deploying AI solutions, this role will allow you to have a direct impact on Udemy’s internal AI capabilities and play a key role in solving complex business challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, build, and deploy agentic AI systems, APIs, and services to solve internal business problems using tools like Workato and OpenAI.
• Scope technical work, set realistic timelines, and contribute to architectural design for scalable, maintainable AI systems.
• Perform rigorous testing, validation, and documentation of AI solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and workflows.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in AI and evaluate their potential applications.
• Participate in peer reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the AI team.

What You’ll Have:

• Hands-on experience in AI engineering, preferably in a production environment.
• Proficiency in prompt engineering for large language models (LLMs) like GPT, Claude, or Gemini.
• Experience building APIs and integrating AI models into applications.
• Strong understanding of data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in small, agile teams.
• A continuous learning mindset with curiosity about emerging AI technologies.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prompt engineering expertise for LLM interaction.
• Experience with agentic AI and deploying production-ready AI solutions.
• Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work with product, engineering, and non-technical stakeholders.
