Role Overview:
We are seeking an Ancillary Business Development Manager to join our team in Mumbai. In this role, you will be responsible for building and expanding the company's non-core sales funnels, including areas like F&B, events, concierge services, memberships, partnerships, and merchandise. Your goal will be to increase the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) by leveraging The Hosteller’s vibrant community of travellers across both direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels and partner channels. Think of this role as driving growth beyond our core product – accommodation – by capitalizing on various travel and hospitality offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industry Understanding: Gain deep knowledge of the hotel/hostel, travel, and tourism sectors, including the company’s vision, product lines, and target user demographics to strategically develop new ancillary revenue streams.
- Product Line Development: Strategize and implement new and innovative ancillary products such as events, travel desks, adventure activities, merchandise, membership programs, etc.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the ancillary revenue segment via D2C channels, physical stores, and partner channels.
- Product Innovation: Drive initiatives to create unique "first-to-market" products that enhance user experience and differentiate the company in the competitive market.
- Partnerships & Alliances: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with various stakeholders and businesses to create value and unique experiences for customers.
- Revenue Growth: Focus on driving profits and identifying opportunities for continuous growth and value creation through the ancillary offerings.
- Community Engagement: Empower local businesses and create opportunities to integrate local cultures into curated experiences, offering an authentic travel experience for our guests.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize strong analytical skills to measure, evaluate, and optimize the success of the business development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in business development within the hotel, hostel, travel, or tourism industry, with a focus on events, community activities, and sales.
- Skills:Strong background in creating experiential and curated products.
- Proficient with revenue management software (RMS, PMS, Channel Managers, etc.).
- Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in up-selling and promoting local cultures and experiences.
