About the Role

Ready to design the future of social gaming? As a Staff Product Designer on Discord’s Slayer (Social Layer) team, you’ll lead the way in crafting seamless, immersive, and social-first experiences that bring Discord directly into games and vice versa. You’ll collaborate with world-class studios (think Xbox, PlayStation, and indie devs), define vision and UX strategy, and shape how millions of gamers connect on and off the platform.

What You’ll Do

• Define the visual and interaction standard for all Slayer design work.
• Design cross-platform social experiences that blend Discord’s UX with individual game styles.
• Partner with Design Directors and product teams to shape strategic roadmaps and vision.
• Lead design initiatives from concept to QA, advocating for design quality throughout.
• Contribute to and refine Discord’s design system, helping scale good design across the org.
• Create and lead workshops, mentorship, and share learnings with the broader design team.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of product design experience with consumer-facing apps.
• A deep love for games and game culture.
• Proven leadership on large-scale, high-impact design projects.
• Experience working across devices and collaborating with dev teams and gaming partners.
• Strategic thinking—able to turn complex problems into simple, compelling solutions.
• Portfolio showcasing thoughtful UX, visual polish, and collaborative innovation.
